Migrations are often motivated by reliability, but can also harm reliability if not done with care.

In this talk, I explored several migrations I led over the past few years, including moving 2500+ jobs to Nomad, and subsequently containerizing these jobs.

The talk discussed what went well and what went wrong in each instance, and how we applied what we learned to improve our migration competency.

Building a platform is like building a product— except you're often doing it without the guidance of a Product Manager.

In this talk, I explored how platform engineers can effectively gather feedback from internal teams, prioritize high-impact projects, and prove ROI despite being a cost center.
